Nordstrom Inaugurates First Full-Line Store in Puerto Rico

Nordstrom Inc. (JWN - Analyst Report) has taken its store-expansion initiative another step ahead with the opening of its first full-line store in Puerto Rico.



Located at The Mall of San Juan in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the store features the company’s latest interior and exterior design concepts while accommodating 3 restaurants and improved beauty experience.

The two-level, 138,000 square feet store is designed to feature 5 shoe departments, expansive cosmetics and accessories areas, and a comprehensive offering of popular brand names for women, men and children.

The popular shoes and handbags brands available at the store include Valentino, Manolo Blahnik, Tory Burch, Vince Camuto and Michael Kors, among others. The women apparel brands available at the store are Missoni, Versace Collection, Herve Leger, Topshop, BCBG, Michael Michael Kors, Elizabeth and James, Haute Hippie and many more. Additionally, exclusive beauty brands will be at the disposal of the San Juan community including Burberry Beauty, Chanel, Jo Malone, La Mer, Khiel's, MAC, Creed and more.

Apart from the popular brands, the Mall of San Juan store offers the company’s newest design concepts that include natural light, wood finishes and other modern updates. The store also renders special services like in-store alterations and tailoring, certified bra and shoe fitters and styling services offered by a Personal Stylist.

Additionally, 3 food options like Bazille, a full-service bistro-style restaurant; Habitant, a bar where customers can enjoy delicious small plates and handcrafted cocktails; and the Ebar, offering handcrafted coffee drinks and grab-and-go food choices, further enhance shopping experience at the store.

The opening of this store kicked off with a Beauty Bash held in the parking lot just outside the mall entrance. At the bash, customers got a sneak peek at the new products and trends from top beauty brands while enjoying the complimentary skincare consultations, demonstrations and makeup tips from Nordstrom’s beauty and fragrance experts. Further, the first customers to walk through the doors received a warm welcome from more than 600 employees.

Nordstrom’s focus on store expansion is evident from the series of Rack store openings over the years. Its latest store openings signify the company’s commitment toward strengthening its network with the aim of driving top-line growth.

The company now operates 299 outlets across 38 states and in Canada, including 116 full-line stores in the U.S. and two in Canada, two Jeffrey boutiques, 173 Nordstrom Racks and one clearance store.
